Associate Director of Process Development

Position Overview: As the Associate Director of Process Development, you will play a pivotal role in the advancement of developmental methods. You will lead a team of talented scientists and engineers to develop, optimize, and scale up downstream purification processes, as well has having a hand in cell line development. The idea candidate will ensure the efficient and consistent production of high-quality biotherapeutic products. Your expertise will drive innovation, enable rapid process development, and contribute to the overall success of our mission to bring novel treatments to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of downstream and upstream process development scientists.
- Design and implement strategies for the development, optimization, and scale-up of downstream purification processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with analytical development, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless integration of processes.
- Employ statistical and data-driven approaches to optimize and characterize purification processes.
- Implement innovative technologies and methodologies to enhance process efficiency, robustness, and productivity.
- Oversee the technology transfer of developed processes to manufacturing, ensuring successful and compliant execution.
- Contribute to regulatory submissions and inspections by providing process development documentation and expertise.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field. Master's degree with significant industry experience will also be considered.
- 6+ years of experience in process development within the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and guide a team toward successful outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
