Our Expertise Area: Commercial

It is a promising outlook for the life sciences industry in the Asia Pacific. According to Deloitte's report, Asia Pacific’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) currently accounts for 45.3% of global GDP, with this number expected to increase to 48.5% in 2025. As the region continues to consistently demonstrate strong economic fundamentals, the outlook for inbound investments is expected to be positive over the next few years.

According to a study published by Dartmouth College, drug companies are spending $9bn more per year on marketing than they were 20 years ago. The Washington Post also discovered that nine out of ten major pharmaceutical companies spend more on sales and marketing than they do on R&D. Major players in the market Johnson & Johnson spent $17.5bn on marketing, and less than half that figure, $8.2bn, on R&D. Fellow American giant Pfizer spent over $11bn on marketing pursuits, almost $5bn more than they spent on research

The commercial sector for the life sciences industry has such great potential, with China leading in the Foreign Direct Investment growth, the demand on hiring business-critical talent for the APAC region will be high. At EPM Scientific APAC, we cover the commercial sector for roles such as SalesMarketingMedical Affairs or Market Access and Pricing.
