Key Account Manager, Austria - Infectious Diseases Launch
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in Austria as a Key Account Manager (KAM) for the launch of a new drug in the anti-infectives space. The role requires solid, proven experience in launching, introducing, and negotiating new drugs within major hospital accounts in the assigned territory.
- Territory: Western Austria (Vienna, Graz, Linz) / Eastern Austria (Salzburg, Innsbruck, Feldkirch)
- Travel: Minimum 80% on-site

Role and Responsibilities
- Execute account strategies effectively, provide required reports, and engage stakeholders to introduce the new drug using an omnichannel approach.
- Develop and implement business plans for assigned accounts.
- Facilitate drug requests through hospital pharmacies in the assigned accounts.
- Maximize and monitor the allocated budget.
- Gather competitive intelligence by understanding decision-making structures and key influencers within the territory.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of the disease area, treatment options, and their impact on patients and healthcare systems.
- Attend internal meetings, technical presentations, and briefings regularly.
- Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, codes, and internal policies, ensuring ethical standards in product promotion.
What You'll Bring
- Authorization to work as a "Pharma-Referent" in Austria.
- Proven experience launching and introducing new products in hospital settings.
- Strong understanding of hospital markets and decision-making processes.
- Ability to build long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in hospital negotiations for pharmaceutical/biotech/hospital products.
- Background in anti-infectives or antifungals is a plus.
- ICU experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with needs-based selling is a plus.
- Experience with hospital listing processes is essential.
- Experience in hospital pharmacy price negotiations is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of hospital pharmacies is required.
- Excellent communication skills; fluency in German and business-level English is a plus.
- Strong presentation and interaction skills with HCPs and KOLs.
- Self-driven and decisive professional with a collaborative mindset.
- Experience in launching drugs for rare diseases is also valued.
