Chief Commercial Officer - Contract Research Organisation- Preclinical and Discovery.

Global Role | US-based | Executive Leadership

We are partnering with a high-growth, specialist CRO to appoint a Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). This organisation operates at the forefront of advanced analytical and structural science, supporting pharma and biotech clients across discovery and preclinical development. With a strong reputation in complex biological systems and cutting-edge technology platforms, the business is entering a new phase of commercial scale-up and expansion.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO, the CCO will take full ownership of the global commercial strategy, lead all revenue-generating functions and building a best-in-class commercial organisation.

With responsibility for:

  • Defining and executing the global go-to-market strategy
  • Scaling commercial capabilities across North America.
  • Driving sustained revenue growth and market penetration
  • Strengthening positioning with mid-size biotech and large pharma clients
  • Building a high-performing team across Business Development, Marketing, and Account Management

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a global commercial strategy aligned to growth objectives
  • Lead, mentor, and scale international BD and commercial teams
  • Drive new business across drug discovery and preclinical services
  • Establish strategic partnerships with biopharma clients and collaborators
  • Optimise pricing, positioning, and service offering alignment
  • Work closely with scientific leadership to align capabilities with market demand
  • Provide commercial insight to support long-term strategic decision-making and investment

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a proven commercial leader with deep experience in outsourced services to the life sciences industry.

Required Experience

  • Senior commercial leadership (SVP / CCO level or equivalent)
  • Must have a successful track record within a Contract research organisation with:
  • Strong exposure to drug discovery and/or preclinical development services
  • Demonstrated success scaling commercial teams and revenue globally
  • Experience selling complex scientific or technical solutions to pharma/biotech
  • Strong Academic background in a relevant scientific subject (Biotechnology, Molecular, Pharma)

Highly Relevant Backgrounds

Experience in one or more of the following areas will be advantageous:

  • Structural biology, biophysics, or advanced analytics
  • Biologics and complex modalities
  • Protein science or molecular characterisation
  • Advanced therapeutic platforms
