EPM Scientific are working with a globally established, research-driven agrochemical organisation with a strong European footprint and a long-standing reputation for innovation across conventional and next-generation crop protection solutions.

As part of a strategic shift towards sustainable and biorational technologies, the business is strengthening its commercial leadership in Germany. They are now seeking a Business Manager to lead regional growth, shape market strategy, and develop high-performing sales teams.

This role is ideally suited to a commercially astute leader with deep knowledge of the German crop protection market and the ability to balance strategic direction with hands-on market execution.


The Role

The Business Manager will take full ownership of commercial performance in Germany, driving revenue growth while supporting a transformation towards biorational and value-added solutions.

You will be responsible for translating global strategy into effective regional execution, managing both push and pull activities, and leading a team of technical and sales professionals to deliver sustainable market share growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the commercial strategy for Germany, ensuring profitable growth and strong customer satisfaction
  • Develop and implement go-to-market approaches across conventional and biorational portfolios
  • Build robust relationships with distributors, retailers, and growers to strengthen market presence
  • Analyse competitive dynamics, pricing, and market trends to protect and grow portfolio value
  • Drive demand-generation activities including product launches, trials, training, and technical presentations
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, supply chain, and customer service functions to ensure seamless execution
  • Manage and coach a Germany-based team of technical sales professionals
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities and proactively implement corrective actions
  • Contribute to product life-cycle and portfolio management decisions at a regional level

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in senior commercial, sales, or technical sales roles within crop protection
  • Strong understanding of conventional and biorational products, biostimulants, or related technologies
  • Solid background in agriculture or life sciences (e.g. agronomy, plant pathology, soil biology, horticulture)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver strategy through people
  • Commercially analytical with strong negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Confident communicator able to engage effectively with growers, distributors, and internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in sales, technical sales, or commercial leadership roles
  • Hands-on experience in the German crop protection market
  • Native-level German and fluency in English
  • Willingness to travel across Germany and occasionally within Europe
