A growing biopharmaceutical organization is seeking a Hematology/Oncology Account Manager to drive strategic engagement and sales performance across a designated geography. This role focuses on advancing an approved hematology therapy by educating clinicians, supporting treatment adoption, and partnering with cross‑functional teams to enhance patient care. The position requires strong clinical acumen, customer focus, and the ability to execute in a dynamic, fast‑moving commercial environment.
Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Clinical Communication
- Deliver clear, impactful clinical education on a hematology therapy, including pivotal data, treatment considerations, and barriers to adoption across hematologists/oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, and institutional stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Medical, Market Access, and other commercial teams to provide comprehensive solutions and support for customers.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, actively sharing insights and staying current with evolving clinical and market dynamics.
Territory & Business Planning
- Build and execute territory business plans grounded in strong clinical and business expertise within the hematology/oncology landscape.
- Develop targeted account‑level action plans informed by analytics, prescribing trends, and market needs to achieve defined goals.
- Consistently meet or exceed performance objectives through thoughtful planning, strong collaboration, and disciplined execution.
Entrepreneurial Leadership
- Serve as a subject matter expert on disease state knowledge, competitive landscape, customer needs, and local market access dynamics.
- Demonstrate a resourceful, solutions‑oriented approach aligned with the demands of a rapidly growing, agile commercial organization.
- Continuously strengthen clinical, commercial, and marketplace expertise while exploring innovative approaches to persistent challenges.
Operational Excellence & Business Acumen
- Use data, sound judgment, and real‑time field insights to adapt territory plans and address shifting market conditions.
- Leverage CRM tools strategically to assess customer status, track progress, and maintain disciplined execution.
- Complete all administrative, compliance, and reporting requirements with accuracy and timeliness.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector, including hematology, oncology, or rare disease.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Proven track record of performance in hematology/oncology sales across academic and community settings.
- Strong existing relationships with key clinical and institutional stakeholders.
- Experience with product launches strongly preferred.
- Comfort working cross‑functionally across market access, marketing, sales operations, medical affairs, and related functions.
- Experience in emerging or start‑up environments preferred; specialty pharmacy knowledge a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate full‑cycle sales processes, including patient identification, clinical education, reimbursement pathways, and distribution.
- Excellent communication, leadership presence, and the ability to adapt to ambiguity and change.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical capabilities, and a "hunter" mindset with the ability to autonomously manage large territories.
