Location: Remote w/ 50% Travel (*Candidates must be based in MA, NH, or RI*)
Compensation Range: $105k--$160k (+ competitive commission, bonus, & benefits package)
Job Summary:
Our firm is partnered with a well-established life sciences services organization on a confidential search for a Business Development Manager to support growth across a specialized portfolio of microbiological, environmental monitoring, and analytical testing services serving the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
This is an opportunity for a commercially driven, field-based sales professional who enjoys building new relationships, uncovering opportunities, and expanding business within highly regulated life sciences environments. The ideal candidate will bring a strong scientific foundation along with a proven ability to sell technical testing or laboratory services into pharma and/or med device clients.
Responsibilities:
- Drive new business across a portfolio of microbiological, environmental monitoring, and analytical service offerings
- Develop and execute territory growth strategies to win new accounts and expand share within existing customers
- Build relationships with key decision-makers across Quality, Manufacturing, Technical Operations, Procurement, and Scientific functions
- Identify client needs and position service solutions that align with regulatory and operational priorities
- Manage opportunities from early prospecting through qualification, quote support, and handoff to internal teams
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to generate leads and build market visibility
- Maintain accurate pipeline activity and opportunity tracking within CRM tools such as Salesforce
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or another related life sciences discipline with 4-9 years of business development / sales experience
- Demonstrated success selling microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, analytical testing, or related laboratory services
- Prior experience supporting customers in the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industries
- Strong new business / hunting skills with the ability to open doors and grow accounts
- Understanding of cGMP-regulated environments and the quality considerations relevant to life sciences manufacturing
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM to manage sales activity and pipeline progression
