Position Summary
The Territory Account Manager is responsible for selling microbiology products and solutions to clinical and industrial laboratory customers within a defined geographic region. This role focuses on driving revenue growth by building relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering value-based solutions to customers at their place of business.
This is a field-based position requiring regular travel throughout the assigned territory and strong collaboration with internal and distributor partners.
Candidates must be located in Minnesota, Wisconsin or Illinois.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and market research
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers, including laboratory and purchasing contacts
- Travel within the assigned territory to meet with customers, present offerings, and close business
- Conduct sales presentations using samples, literature, and other resources, clearly articulating features and benefits
- Provide pricing, negotiate terms, and secure customer orders
- Manage and develop relationships with distribution partners, including joint field visits and participation in partner-led events
- Spend a majority of time in the field conducting sales visits and customer engagement activities
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, pipeline activity, and expenses
- Collaborate with internal sales teams to ensure account alignment and up-to-date information
- Support customer onboarding, training, and ongoing education
- Assist with onboarding and training of new team members when needed
- Track and enter customer and sales data into internal systems
- Resolve customer issues related to orders, deliveries, or service concerns
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, and sales meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a life sciences discipline such as microbiology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Early-career to mid-level sales experience in a related field preferred
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both individuals and groups
- Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based sales environment
