Site Director

Manufacturing, supply chain and R&D Centre of excellence regenerative medical devices

The challenge

As Site Director, you are ultimately responsible for the safety and wellbeing of all employees onsite and provide strategic management oversight for over 50 employees. As head of manufacturing, supply chain and project management operations, you are responsible for tactical day-to-day management, direction and guidance in the production, supply chain, operations and project management processes at the site. You also further oversee Finance, HR, R&D, clinical and quality and regulations, where these functions report directly into the Global Executive Leadership Team. You facilitate strong collaboration across all functions, are well informed across the board and are keen on data, output and trends. Always with human touch, a sense of humor and from servant leadership.

As Site Director and part of the global executive leadership team (ELT), you provide further strategic leadership, vision and stimulate teamwork and maximum output every day. Through your interventions, contributes daily to quality, compliance, maximum service levels and customer satisfaction, business continuity, profitability and delivery reliability. All this fits within the strategic goals, applicable laws and regulations (including environment and safety) and policies. You guard core values such as determination, integrity, creativity and collaboration and move with urgency.

You transfer your clear vision and knowledge of medical devices on a daily basis. You report to your functional leader and ELT as appropriate, in relation to plan adherence, budgetary performance, project updates, promptly, accurately, as required.

From your first day you will have to deal with manufacturing and supply chain performance metrics, financial metrics (Gross Margin, EBITDA), production and inventory planning and management, plant capacity and efficiency optimisation, continuous improvement processes, new product introduction planning and reporting, key customer relationship management, quality, compliance, and safety.

In this you are and remain critical; in the medical science of which the company operates, a healthy combination of theoretical knowledge, empathy, ambition, people orientation and critical thinking are self-evident. So are operational excellence, cost reduction and lean manufacturing on which you base many choices with your team and effective leadership. In the coming period, striving for maximum quality and ensuring a pleasant and safe working environment will also require your attention. As a coaching leader, you realize this in a very natural way and pay constant attention to job satisfaction and effective teamwork.
