Scientific Director - Continuing Medical Education (CME)
EPM Scientific is working with a global leader that focuses in the continuing medical education space for live, online, and print-based materials. This agency is looking for a Scientific Director to support their oncology team across both solid and liquid tumors.
Job responsibilities:
- Develop and manage content for medical education programs across live, online, and print formats. Responsibilities include creating original material, editing submissions from freelancers and faculty, and collaborating with subject matter experts. Oversee project assignments to freelance writers and support staff, and ensure all content is finalized for publication or presentation.
- Participate in key medical conferences-either in person or remotely-to support the development of conference coverage. Contribute to the writing and editing of related educational activities, including both text-based and PowerPoint presentations.
- Cultivate and expand strategic partnerships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and expert faculty. Collaborate with KOLs to identify educational gaps and secure funding opportunities to enhance healthcare professional (HCP) education.
A strong candidate will have:
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, including interactive online tools and CME-specific content such as outcomes assessments.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation capabilities.
- Collaborative team player, experienced in working with internal teams and external stakeholders including faculty, freelancers, and educational partners.
- Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and resourceful mindset.
- 3-5 years of recent experience in writing, developing, and editing CME/CE activities.
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, NP/APN, MBA) preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of CME/CE-certified program development and familiarity with ACCME, ACPE, ANCC, and other regulatory guidelines.
- Proficient in AMA style and MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); comfortable using online medical reference tools.
- Experience managing diverse CME formats, including PowerPoint presentations, case-based learning, video content, and interactive digital media.
- Skilled in writing grant proposals for CME/IME initiatives.
