Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical R&D Engineer to support ongoing product development and lifecycle management activities. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in materials science, coatings, and analytical chemistry, particularly within the medical device or drug delivery sectors.
You will play a key role in sustaining engineering efforts, focusing on materials analysis, coating performance, and drug release characterisation. The position is primarily desk-based and involves extensive data analysis, technical reporting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Contract details:
- Duration: 12 months initially
- Location: Based in Galway
- Work Arrangement: Monday - Friday (3 on-site, 2 hybrid)
- Hours: 40 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the sustaining engineering workstream for materials and coatings, ensuring product performance and compliance throughout the lifecycle.
- Conduct and oversee materials analysis, including failure investigations and root cause analysis.
- Drive analytical chemistry initiatives to support drug release profiling and coating integrity.
- Generate and review technical reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and regulatory alignment.
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve product issues and implement improvements.
- Utilise advanced analytical techniques (e.g., spectroscopy, chromatography, microscopy) to support investigations and product evaluations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of materials science, polymer chemistry, and drug delivery technologies.
- Support regulatory submissions and audits with robust technical documentation.
