Product Specialist - Urology (f/m/d)
Position Summary
The Product Specialist - Urology (f/m/d) is responsible for providing expert clinical and technical support for a medical device within clinical study and commercial environments. The role acts as a key interface between healthcare professionals and internal teams, ensuring effective product use, structured feedback collection, and continuous product improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver product training to surgical teams involved in clinical activities
- Provide on-site technical support during procedures, including presence in the operating theatre where required
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technical queries, product usage, and issue resolution
- Develop, update, and maintain training materials and supporting documentation
- Collect and report clinical feedback, implant data, and user experience insights
- Support post-implant product-related activities, including software updates and device interventions
Stakeholder Engagement
Internal Collaboration
- Clinical Operations: coordination of surgical planning and clinical study activities
- Research & Development: provision of product feedback and reporting of technical issues
- Quality Assurance: participation in investigations and complaint management processes
- Human Factors / Usability: support on user experience and product interaction topics
- Marketing: contribution to product positioning through field insights
- Field-based teams: collaboration for site-level coordination and data collection
External Interaction
- Healthcare professionals: delivery of training and technical support
- Clinical study sites: coordination with site personnel and study stakeholders
Core Accountabilities
- Provide high-level technical support to clinical and medical teams
- Deliver structured training sessions at clinical sites
- Act as the designated technical representative during procedures
- Support clinicians in product-related decision-making within defined parameters
Autonomy and Working Environment
- Independently manage travel, scheduling, and activity planning in alignment with clinical timelines
- Maintain regular reporting on activities, progress, and field insights
- Operate within a field-based environment requiring ongoing interaction with clinical stakeholders
Qualifications and Experience
Education and Knowledge
- Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Sciences, or a related field
- Knowledge of, or exposure to, urology or surgical environments
- Understanding of applicable medical device regulations and standards (e.g. ISO 13485, MDR or equivalent frameworks)
- Familiarity with clinical investigations and safety reporting processes
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to deliver training effectively within clinical environments
- Capacity to operate in high-pressure settings, including operating theatres
- Sound problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
