About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance Mechatronics Engineer to support the development of next-generation medical devices. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a strong background in mechatronics, embedded systems, and medical device development under ISO 13485 and MDR frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and test mechatronic systems for Class II/III medical devices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, electronics, software, and regulatory affairs
• Develop and validate control systems, sensors, and actuators
• Support risk management and design verification activities
• Ensure compliance with relevant medical device standards and documentation requirements

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechatronics engineering, with at least 2 years in the medical device industry
• Proficiency in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks), MATLAB/Simulink, and embedded systems development
• Strong understanding of IEC 60601, ISO 13485, and EU MDR
• Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus
• Based in Germany or eligible to work as a freelancer under German regulations
