Our client is a global pharmaceutical organization with a strong focus on specialty and innovative therapies, seeking a senior commercial leader to drive growth and commercialization in the Japanese market.
What You'll Be Doing
- Define and execute the national sales strategy aligned with overall business objectives in Japan.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing national sales team to consistently achieve and exceed targets.
- Drive successful commercialization and launch of new pharmaceutical products.
- Identify and expand market opportunities, channels, and key accounts across Japan.
- Partner closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory teams to ensure strategic alignment.
- Deliver accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reporting to senior management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, institutions, and partners.
- Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and pricing to sustain competitive advantage.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical sales experience, including at least 3 years in a people management role.
- Demonstrated track record in new product launches and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of the Japanese pharmaceutical market, regulations, and commercial channels.
- Proven leadership, team development, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strategic mindset with strong execution skills in a dynamic, regulated environment.
- Fluency in Japanese and English with strong cross-cultural communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, or related field; MBA is an advantage.
