Technical Sales Manager

A rapidly growing genomics services organization is seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Technical Sales Manager to drive the growth of its Single Cell service portfolio. This is a high-impact, client-facing role that blends scientific expertise with strategic business development.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in expanding market presence by identifying new opportunities, delivering technical consultation, and closing complex, consultative sales within academia, biopharma, and clinical research sectors.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify, prospect, and engage new clients across academic, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and clinical research organizations
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to expand adoption of single cell sequencing services
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline to support ongoing revenue growth

Technical Consultation

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for single cell platforms
  • Provide guidance on experimental design, workflow optimization, and sample preparation
  • Translate complex scientific concepts into clear, value-driven solutions for clients

Full Sales Cycle Management

  • Manage the end-to-end sales process, including lead generation, qualification, technical presentations, proposal development, and contract negotiation
  • Consistently meet or exceed revenue targets and key performance metrics
  • Deliver tailored proposals aligned with client research objectives

Customer Success & Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact throughout the customer journey
  • Ensure alignment between client expectations and project execution
  • Foster long-term relationships to enable repeat business and account growth

Market Intelligence

  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in single cell genomics
  • Provide insights to internal stakeholders to support product and service innovation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, or a related life sciences discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in NGS-related technical sales, business development, or field applications
  • Strong knowledge of single cell sequencing workflows, including scRNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and Multiome
  • Demonstrated success managing a sales pipeline and achieving or exceeding revenue targets
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information in a commercially meaningful way
