Position Summary

The Head of Sales - Europe will be responsible for leading and scaling the commercial operations across Europe, with a focus on ophthalmic surgical and diagnostic devices. This role will drive market penetration, build strategic partnerships, and lead a high-performing sales team to achieve ambitious growth targets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a pan-European sales strategy for ophthalmic medical devices.
  • Lead and manage regional sales teams, including country managers and distributors.
  • Drive revenue growth through direct sales, distributor management, and strategic partnerships.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Clinical, and Regulatory teams to support product launches and market access.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in hospitals, clinics, and private practices.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), surgeons, and procurement stakeholders.
  • Monitor market dynamics, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to inform strategy.
  • Oversee sales forecasting, pipeline management, and performance reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or Engineering; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of sales leadership experience in medical devices, ideally within ophthalmology or surgical specialties.
  • Proven success in managing multi-country sales teams and distributor networks.
  • Deep understanding of the European healthcare and reimbursement landscape.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
  • Fluent in English; German and other European languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Europe.
