Head of Sales, Europe
Position Summary
The Head of Sales - Europe will be responsible for leading and scaling the commercial operations across Europe, with a focus on ophthalmic surgical and diagnostic devices. This role will drive market penetration, build strategic partnerships, and lead a high-performing sales team to achieve ambitious growth targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a pan-European sales strategy for ophthalmic medical devices.
- Lead and manage regional sales teams, including country managers and distributors.
- Drive revenue growth through direct sales, distributor management, and strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Clinical, and Regulatory teams to support product launches and market access.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in hospitals, clinics, and private practices.
- Maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), surgeons, and procurement stakeholders.
- Monitor market dynamics, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to inform strategy.
- Oversee sales forecasting, pipeline management, and performance reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or Engineering; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of sales leadership experience in medical devices, ideally within ophthalmology or surgical specialties.
- Proven success in managing multi-country sales teams and distributor networks.
- Deep understanding of the European healthcare and reimbursement landscape.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
- Fluent in English; German and other European languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Europe.
