Director of Public Relations - Life Sciences

We are seeking a strategic, experienced, and dynamic Director of Public Relations to lead communications initiatives across the biotech, pharmaceutical, and healthcare sectors. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications Leadership

  • Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies aligned with client goals in the life sciences industry.
  • Provide expert counsel on media relations, reputation management, and crisis communications.
  • Lead integrated campaigns that reflect current regulatory and industry trends.

Client Engagement & Account Oversight

  • Serve as a senior advisor and main point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service and strategic alignment.
  • Manage and mentor account teams to deliver high-quality, timely, and creative communications solutions.
  • Drive client satisfaction through proactive communication and results-driven execution.

Media Relations & Thought Leadership

  • Leverage strong media relationships to secure top-tier and trade coverage for clients.
  • Identify and develop thought leadership opportunities, including speaking engagements, bylined content, and awards.
  • Guide clients on social media strategy to enhance visibility and engagement.

Industry Expertise & Regulatory Insight

  • Stay informed on life sciences trends, regulatory updates, and public policy developments.
  • Help clients navigate complex regulatory environments with clear, compliant messaging.

Business Development

  • Support new business efforts by contributing to proposals, pitches, and relationship-building.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and expand the agency's life sciences portfolio.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and inclusion.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of team and client work.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in public relations, with a strong focus on life sciences, healthcare, biotech, or pharma.
  • Proven success in developing and executing strategic communications programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory bodies such as the FDA, CDC, and related frameworks.
  • Strong media relations skills and a track record of securing impactful coverage.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and clients in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
