Typical products within this portfolio include methanol, sulphur, sulphuric acid, fertilisers, petrochemicals, and industrial solvents, serving markets such as chemicals, agriculture, energy, refining, and industrial manufacturing.
Your Tasks
- Lead sales and commercial activities for basic chemical products (e.g. methanol, sulphur, sulphuric acid, fertilisers, solvents) within the assigned region
- Acquire new customers while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, building long‑term, sustainable partnerships
- Analyse customer requirements, market trends, and regional growth potential
- Evaluate sales performance and prepare regular reports and forecasts
- Independently manage pricing calculations, offer preparation, and follow‑up
- Take responsibility for monthly and quarterly price negotiations, annual contracts, and public tenders
- Handle customer complaints, including documentation and coordination with internal departments
- Oversee customer service and order‑management activities (order placement, delivery rescheduling, dunning, credit topics)
- Manage credit‑related topics in close cooperation with the credit management team
- Collaborate with logistics, procurement, finance, and operations to ensure smooth end‑to‑end execution
- Support and guide team members, contributing to a collaborative and performance‑driven environment
Requirements
- Completed commercial training or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in sales, purchasing, or product marketing, ideally within basic chemicals, industrial chemicals, or related sectors
- Strong understanding of commodity‑driven chemical markets and pricing dynamics
- Confident, persuasive communication style with strong negotiation skills
- Structured, detail‑oriented, and reliable working approach
- Team‑focused mindset with the ability to collaborate across functions
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
- Solid working knowledge of SAP or comparable ERP systems
- Willingness to travel occasionally across Germany
