Senior Business Development Manager (Cell & Gene Therapy / Discovery Services)
EPM Scientific is supporting growth across the cell and gene therapy (CGT) and discovery services market. This Senior Business Development Manager will own a defined territory and focus on driving strategic account growth, developing high-value opportunities, and expanding long-term customer partnerships. This role requires a strong blend of commercial leadership, technical acumen, and strategic execution across mid- to large-scale accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Own full sales cycle across mid- to high-value accounts, including prospecting, opportunity development, negotiation, and account expansion
- Develop and execute territory strategy to identify and convert high-potential opportunities into sustained revenue
- Drive new business while expanding existing accounts through cross-sell and upsell initiatives
- Build and manage relationships with key decision-makers across customer organizations
- Consistently achieve and exceed revenue targets through effective pipeline management and deal execution
- Maintain accurate forecasting and CRM activity tracking
- Collaborate cross-functionally with technical, product, and marketing teams to deliver tailored solutions
- Communicate value propositions across discovery and CGT offerings
Required Experience & Skills
- 5-8 years of sales or business development experience within life sciences, biotech, or pharma
- Proven success managing complex sales cycles and growing mid- to large-scale accounts
- Strong knowledge of cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related scientific fields
- Understanding of drug discovery workflows, preclinical development, and the CGT landscape
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic customer relationships and execute consultative sales approaches
- Experience with forecasting, pipeline management, and territory planning
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Self-motivated with ability to manage a remote territory and competing priorities
- Willingness to travel up to ~30%
