Project Engineer (Electrical) - 12 Month Contract
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Electrical) to support a significant site investment and growth programme within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will lead electrical engineering projects from concept through execution, managing contractors, driving project timelines, ensuring GMP compliance, and delivering critical site upgrades with minimal disruption to operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering projects involving new equipment installations, electrical infrastructure upgrades, automation improvements, and site expansion activities.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and contractor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate third-party contractors and ensure all works are executed safely and in accordance with site standards.
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, FAT, SAT, start-up, and qualification activities.
- Review and approve electrical drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, quality, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives relating to electrical standards, equipment reliability, and operational performance.
- Provide technical leadership while overseeing project execution and contractor activities.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience delivering capital projects within Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Food, Manufacturing, or other highly regulated GMP environments.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, automation systems, instrumentation, electrical distribution systems, control systems, and process equipment.
- Experience managing electrical installations, upgrades, commissioning, and contractor-led projects.
- Strong understanding of GMP compliance, engineering documentation, change control, quality systems, and contractor management.
- Ability to review engineering drawings, electrical schematics, technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Experience with FAT/SAT, validation support, RCA, FMEA, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven capability managing project timelines, stakeholders, budgets, and engineering deliverables.
