EHS Specialist - Contract Opportunity

Location: Ireland (Onsite)
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Industry: Medical Device / Regulated Manufacturing

Overview

We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to support site operations within a regulated manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with operational, engineering, quality, and leadership teams to ensure compliance with EHS legislation, drive safety culture initiatives, and support continuous improvement activities across the site.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong experience in risk management, process safety, audits, and contractor management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day Environmental, Health & Safety activities across the site
  • Conduct and review risk assessments and implement effective control measures
  • Lead and participate in incident investigations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and CAPA implementation
  • Support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities across manufacturing operations
  • Facilitate and participate in HAZOP studies and support risk reduction initiatives
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety walks
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, Irish legislation, and EHS standards
  • Support contractor management, Permit-to-Work systems, and high-risk work activities
  • Deliver EHS training and promote a positive safety culture
  • Support ISO management systems, corrective action tracking, and compliance activities
  • Monitor EHS metrics and assist with reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with Operational, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Leadership teams

Essential Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in an EHS role within Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Diagnostics, Chemical, or Regulated Manufacturing environments
  • Strong experience conducting HAZOP studies and supporting Process Safety Management activities
  • Experience with:
    • Risk Assessments
    • Incident Investigations
    • CAPA Management
    • Contractor Management
    • Permit-to-Work Systems
    • Safety Audits and Inspections
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team

Preferred Experience

  • GMP-regulated manufacturing environment
  • HAZID, LOPA, PSSR, MOC, ATEX, COMAH, or SEVESO exposure
  • Environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives
  • Occupational Health or Industrial Hygiene experience

✅ Must have current rights to work in Ireland (Stamp 4, Stamp 1G, EU Citizen, or other unrestricted work authorization)

✅ Must be available to work onsite in Ireland
