Role Overview

The Associate Director, Market Access & Patient Services Analytics will report to the Head of Analytics within a cross-functional strategy and operations organization. This role is instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making across market access and patient services through development of advanced analytics, strategic insights, and business-facing deliverables.

The individual will serve as a key partner to commercial, market access, and patient services leadership-owning analytical capabilities, synthesizing complex data into actionable insights, and shaping strategic decisions that support portfolio growth and patient access.


Key Responsibilities

Market Access Analytics

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to Market Access leadership by leveraging data, KPIs, and advanced analytics to identify growth opportunities and risks
  • Develop and deliver ad hoc analyses and executive-ready presentations to address business-critical questions
  • Lead the evolution of market access data capabilities, including data sourcing, vendor strategy, automation, and ROI measurement
  • Support launch planning and execution through real-world evidence (RWE) and data-driven insights

Example initiatives may include:

  • Payer mix modeling and gross-to-net (GTN) analytics by channel
  • Contract performance evaluation across GPOs and site-of-care settings
  • Payer strategy development and payer "spine" buildout
  • Marketing impact analysis and investment optimization
  • 340B exposure analysis and pricing/contracting insights across payers and PBMs

Patient Services Analytics

  • Partner with Patient Services leadership to optimize patient engagement strategies through data and analytics
  • Design and implement measurement frameworks for patient support programs (e.g., adherence, copay, next-best-action models)
  • Support quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with actionable insights and performance reporting
  • Contribute to launch readiness through development of data-enabled patient support strategies

Example initiatives may include:

  • Patient journey mapping using claims, hub, specialty pharmacy, and copay data
  • Predictive modeling for patient discontinuation and engagement interventions
  • Adherence analytics and cross-functional task force support
  • Benefit design modeling to improve access and program utilization

Leadership & Cross-Functional Impact

  • Deliver high-impact analyses to senior leadership, including root-cause insights and strategic recommendations
  • Champion integrated, data-driven decision-making across commercial functions
  • Collaborate closely with IT to prioritize analytics capability development within agile sprint cycles
  • Support forecasting processes by developing key data inputs for short- and long-range planning
  • Partner with advanced analytics teams on AI/ML-driven initiatives to expand enterprise capabilities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, health economics); advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in analytics, with demonstrated impact in pharmaceutical or healthcare environments
  • Prior experience supporting market access, payer strategy, or reimbursement analytics strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with healthcare data sources, including claims, EMR/EHR, and specialty data assets

Technical & Analytical Expertise

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with the ability to build and execute complex analytical models
  • Experience with key pharmaceutical datasets (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony, Komodo, MMIT, specialty pharmacy and hub data)
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, GCP) and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Strong grounding in advancedanalytics methodologies, including:
    • Predictive modeling and machine learning
    • Segmentation, clustering, and patient identification
    • Time series forecasting and marketing mix modeling
    • Experimental design (A/B testing, ANCOVA)

Business & Industry Acumen

  • Deep understanding of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem, including payer dynamics, reimbursement models, and policy considerations
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, 340B, and commercial payer structures
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical pricing, forecasting, and commercial strategy
  • Strong ability to translate complex data into clear, business-relevant insights

Additional Information

  • Preferred location: Greater Boston area; hybrid work environment (2-3 days onsite)
  • Travel: Approximately 10% for internal meetings, global collaboration, and external conferences
  • Salary: 180-200,000 base salary, 20% bonus, LTI + additional benefits
