Senior Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer (Contract) - 6months
Our client is seeking a hands-on Senior Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer to support its growing 3D-printed titanium implant manufacturing operation. The consultant will investigate and reduce manufacturing non-conformance's across multiple additive manufacturing machines, with a focus on improving process capability, product consistency and overall manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose the root causes of manufacturing, physical and clinical-related non-conformance's.
- Analyse production data against established product specifications.
- Determine whether issues originate from machine performance, titanium powder characteristics, software/programming, process parameters or upstream manufacturing inputs.
- Conduct manufacturing process diagnostics and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce variability and increase yield.
Required Experience:
- Strong experience in metal additive manufacturing (3D printing), ideally titanium.
- Background within medical devices, orthopaedics, spine or implantable products.
- Proven track record in root-cause investigations, process optimisation and non-conformance reduction.
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing equipment, powder handling, manufacturing software and process validation.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D and Operations teams.
