TEE Probe Repair Technician
- Perform incoming inspection of TEE probes to assess mechanical, electrical, and imaging defects
- Conduct functional testing using OEM or third-party test equipment to isolate root cause (array faults, cable/strain relief damage, bending section issues, leakage current failures)
- Document defect findings and correlate with intake photos/notes to support accurate quoting
- Perform array repair or replacement per established defect-to-repair mapping rules
- Repair or replace lens, housing seals, and insertion tube components (only when not superseded by array-level repair, per quoting logic)
- Rework bending section mechanisms, control wires, and articulation components specific to TEE design
- Perform cable and connector repairs, including strain relief and shield continuity fixes
- Execute leakage current and dielectric testing to confirm patient-safety compliance post-repair
- Conduct final functional and image-quality verification before releasing a probe
- Perform leakage/isolation testing per applicable safety standards (e.g., IEC 60601-1)
- Complete QA documentation and sign-off per department SOPs
- Flag recurring failure patterns to engineering/QA for root-cause investigation
- Maintain accurate repair records, test results, and parts usage in the tracking system
- Support historical quote form data used for training the quoting model
- Contribute to troubleshooting flowcharts and repair knowledge base updates
- Follow biohazard handling protocols for probes received from clinical use
- Adhere to ESD, cleanroom (if applicable), and safety handling procedures for sensitive TEE electronics
- Comply with FDA and internal quality system requirements for medical device repair
- Work with intake/quoting team to validate defect assessments against submitted quotes
- Escalate ambiguous or non-standard defects to senior techs or engineering
- Provide input on training materials or troubleshooting guides for junior technicians
Experience/Training/Education
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- 1 to 2 Years working with small parts required
- Previous work experience in TEE probe repair and/or Endoscope repair strongly preferred

Ability to deescalate and resolve problems involving several variables with limited supervision.
Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as financial journals, operating and accounting instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of the organisation. Ability to read through reporting and compliance requirements. Excellent customer-relationship skills and a strong customer-centric mindset required to be successful in this role.
