Business Process Owner
EPM Scientific are supporting a key Pharmaceutical client on their search for a Freelance Business Process Owner who can act as the process owner, taking responsibility for designing, governing and continuously improving master data processes while ensuring master data is properly represented across strategic business initiatives.
Responsibilities
Process Ownership
- Own end-to-end master data processes, including:
- Material Master
- Vendor / Business Partner Master Data
- Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Production Versions
- Info Records
- Purchasing Contracts
- Flow Requests
- Maintain and govern associated standards, SOPs and work instructions.
MDM Centralisation
- Support the design and implementation of a centralised MDM operating model.
- Define target processes, roles and responsibilities.
- Establish effective hand-offs between local and central teams.
- Drive harmonised global master data standards.
Transformation Programmes
- Represent Master Data within strategic transformation initiatives, including:
- S/4HANA evolution programmes
- Process harmonisation initiatives
- System consolidation projects
- Support data design, migration readiness, data cleansing and cutover activities.
Governance & Data Quality
- Define and implement data quality standards, KPIs and monitoring frameworks.
- Drive local improvement plans.
- Ensure processes remain audit-ready and GxP compliant.
Controls & Compliance
- Design and maintain segregation-of-duties (SoD) and access control frameworks.
- Support governance around contract pricing processes in collaboration with Procurement.
Expert Escalation & Team Support
- Act as the escalation point for complex master data issues.
- Lead root-cause investigations and resolution activities.
- Provide coaching and guidance to the operational MDM team.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Define requirements for Hybrid/e-CMI and other automation initiatives.
- Drive process simplification, standardisation and continuous improvement.
Project Support
- Support:
- Product launches
- New entity deployments
- CMO onboarding
- System enhancements
- Provide support through design, testing, deployment and hypercare phases.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the central point of contact for:
- Supply Chain
- Quality
- Procurement
- Finance & Controlling
- Artwork CoE
Must Haves
- Deep process and configuration knowledge of SAP MM, PP and QM master data.
- Experience with S/4HANA Business Partner and SAP MDG (or similar governance workflows).
- Understanding of FI/CO integration, including valuation, costing and GRC/SoD controls.
- Proven experience in:
- Data Governance
- Process Design
- SOP Ownership
- Previous involvement in transformation or MDM centralisation programmes, including operating model design, migration and harmonisation activities.
- Fluent English language skills.
- Strong expertise across Master Data Management.
- Previous experience as a Process Owner, Lead or SME.
