Account Director (Market Access)
The Account Director is the senior strategic and relationship lead for market access clients within a healthcare advertising agency. This role oversees day‑to‑day account direction, drives strategic and creative excellence, and ensures the delivery of high‑impact payer and access communications.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership
- Serve as the primary client partner, building strong, trusted relationships.
- Lead strategic conversations around payer messaging, brand access challenges, and communication needs.
- Proactively identify opportunities to grow client business and deepen partnership.
Strategic & Creative Direction
- Guide the development of compelling market access communication tools (e.g., payer decks, pull‑through materials, access narratives, AMCP dossier visuals).
- Translate complex clinical and value concepts into clear, audience‑appropriate messaging.
- Ensure all creative and content aligns with brand strategy and payer expectations.
Team & Project Management
- Oversee cross-functional internal teams (strategy, creative, medical, project management).
- Manage timelines, workflows, and priorities across multiple workstreams.
- Ensure smooth execution, strong collaboration, and consistently high-quality deliverables.
Financial & Operational Ownership
- Own account financials: forecasts, SOW development, budgets, and profitability.
- Identify opportunities for organic growth and new engagement areas.
- Ensure efficient resource planning and operational excellence.
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain accuracy and consistency across all deliverables.
- Ensure materials meet regulatory requirements and internal QC standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus.
- 4+ years' experience within healthcare advertising or market access communications.
- Strong understanding of US payer landscape and access dynamics.
- Proven success leading client relationships and cross-functional agency teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
