A specialty biopharmaceutical organization with an established U.S. commercial footprint is conducting a confidential retained search for a Senior Oncology Consultant to lead hematology engagement across the Long Island territory.

This role supports a focused oncology portfolio in a high-science, specialty setting and is designed for a seasoned commercial professional who operates comfortably in complex treatment environments and values long-term, compliant partnerships with oncology stakeholders.

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Oncology Consultant will assume full ownership of a strategically important territory, partnering closely with hematologists and oncologists across academic institutions, health systems, and select community practices. The position offers meaningful autonomy, visibility, and the opportunity to contribute to sustained growth within a disciplined, patient‑centric organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ownership of territory performance through thoughtful account planning and disciplined execution
  • Engagement in ethical, balanced scientific exchange with oncology stakeholders
  • Development of long-standing relationships with key decision-makers and influencers
  • Translation of clinical concepts into relevant, individualized customer discussions
  • Collaboration with internal commercial partners and external stakeholders in a matrixed environment
  • Navigation of institutional dynamics, access considerations, and evolving care pathways
  • Representation of the organization in a professional manner across customer engagements and regional forums
  • Consistent adherence to all regulatory, compliance, and ethical standards

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (min requirement); scientific background preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of successful pharmaceutical or biotech sales experience
  • Prior experience in oncology strongly preferred; hematology exposure is advantageous
  • Documented record of sustained commercial success in complex or competitive markets
  • Credible, consultative engagement style with senior oncology decision-makers
  • Comfortable operating within collaborative, cross‑functional organizations
  • Strategic mindset paired with strong execution discipline
  • Must reside within the Long Island territory and be comfortable with regular field travel
