Oncology Key Account Manager - North West Germany

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially driven Oncology Key Account Manager to join a growing oncology team covering North West Germany. In this field-based role, you will be responsible for driving the successful adoption and market access of innovative oncology therapies across your territory.
The successful candidate will develop strategic partnerships with key stakeholders across hospitals, university centres, oncology networks, certified cancer centres, and outpatient oncology practices. You will work cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Marketing to deliver exceptional customer engagement and ensure patients gain timely access to life-changing treatments.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Commercial Excellence
- Develop and execute a strategic territory business plan to achieve and exceed sales objectives.
- Build long-term partnerships with key decision-makers within oncology centres and healthcare institutions.
- Identify opportunities to expand product adoption through a deep understanding of customer needs, treatment pathways, and regional healthcare dynamics.
- Effectively prioritize accounts and resources to maximize business impact.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with a broad range of stakeholders including:
- Medical Oncologists
- Hematologist-Oncologists
- Hospital Pharmacists
- Cancer Centre Directors
- Multidisciplinary Treatment Teams
- Purchasing and Procurement Teams
- Regional Networks and Oncology Associations
- Establish credibility as a trusted partner through scientific and commercial discussions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Medical Science Liaisons, Market Access, Marketing, and Commercial Operations teams.
- Support local implementation of national brand strategies.
- Contribute valuable market insights to inform business decisions and future launch planning.
Market Access & Healthcare Systems
- Develop a strong understanding of reimbursement pathways and regional healthcare structures.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and overcome access-related barriers.
- Support account-specific initiatives that improve patient access and optimize treatment uptake.
Territory Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer developments.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and forecasting data.
- Analyse account performance metrics and implement corrective actions where required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, Pharmacy, or related discipline.
- Existing pharmaceutical sales experience within specialty care, hospital, or oncology environments.
- Strong understanding of the German healthcare system and oncology treatment landscape.
- Demonstrated success managing complex stakeholder networks and achieving commercial objectives.
- Fluency in German and English.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory.
Preferred Experience
- Experience promoting innovative oncology therapies, including solid tumours or hematology-oncology products.
- Product launch experience within specialty pharmaceuticals or biotechnology.
- Strong understanding of certified cancer centres, hospital structures, and regional oncology networks.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary account management models.
