Field Based Veterinarian
Position Summary
A leading animal health company is seeking a Field-Based Veterinarian to support veterinary professionals, distributors, academic institutions, and internal teams throughout Florida. This field-based role requires approximately 50-60% travel and candidates should reside within the state, preferably near a major airport.
The successful candidate will serve as a scientific and technical resource, providing product education, professional training, continuing education support, and veterinary outreach across the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate veterinary continuing education (CE) programs and obtain accreditation approvals for company-sponsored educational events.
- Build and maintain relationships with veterinary key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinicians, and industry stakeholders.
- Provide product training, educational presentations, lunch-and-learn programs, and professional development sessions for customers and sales teams.
- Partner with veterinary schools and academic institutions to facilitate educational opportunities for faculty and students.
- Develop and review technical, scientific, and educational materials supporting current and future products.
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and scientific meetings to provide technical expertise and support commercial activities.
- Respond to technical and scientific inquiries from veterinarians and pet owners.
- Assist with product complaint and adverse event follow-up as needed.
- Deliver scientific and technical information to both internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and professional services teams to support business objectives.
Qualifications
Education
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent veterinary degree required.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical veterinary practice experience.
- Veterinary industry experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Experience supporting field-based commercial organizations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- English/Spanish bilingual skills preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 60% throughout Florida.
