A leading medical and scientific communications agency is seeking an experienced Account Director to join its growing team. Role Overview

The Account Director will be responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships, partnering with key opinion leaders, and guiding internal teams to deliver strategic, high‑quality work.

Key Responsibilities

Account Leadership

  • Lead projects from kickoff through completion, serving as the primary contact for clients through executing key deliverables such as: advisory boards, symposia, KOL engagement, and slide decks.
  • Ensure clarity around deliverables, strategic intent, budgets, and schedules.

Planning & Risk Management

  • Maintain project timelines and communicate updates to all relevant parties.
  • Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Financial & Scope Oversight

  • Monitor resource usage and budget adherence.
  • Prepare statements of work (SOWs), program budgets, and reconciliations with accurate documentation.
  • Identify and communicate scope changes to stakeholders.

Team Leadership

  • Support on-boarding and training for junior team members.
  • Delegate work effectively and ensure high‑quality, on-time execution.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Oversee regulatory and medical-legal review processes to ensure materials meet applicable guidelines and client expectations.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of account or project management experience within a medical communications
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, pharmaceutical products, and industry compliance standards
  • Strong business acumen, budget management, and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships
  • Experience leading programs from concept through execution
  • Ability to contribute to organic business growth and make tactical recommendations
  • Expertise in SOW development and management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work constructively in collaborative environments
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Proficiency in Microsoft® Office
