Position Summary
The Account Coordinator is an entry‑level communications professional who supports client accounts while developing foundational PR, IR, and communications skills.

Key Responsibilities
Account & Client Support

  • Assist in executing PR/IR programs, conducting research, and contributing in team meetings and brainstorms.
  • Stay current on client industries, competitive landscapes, and relevant issues.
  • Maintain high standards in client service and proactively identify opportunities to contribute.

Professional Skills

  • Use research tools to monitor media, compile reports, and analyze coverage.
  • Draft basic communications materials such as media alerts, pitches, bios, and case studies.
  • Build accurate media lists and prepare competitive or market analyses.
  • Support media outreach, events, and logistics for meetings, conferences, and special programs.
  • Prepare meeting summaries, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with vendors and understand basics of production and digital media.

Financial & Administrative

  • Learn billing, budgeting, and activity reporting processes.
  • Submit timesheets daily and manage time efficiently across assignments.
  • Seek additional work when bandwidth allows and contribute to agency meetings.

Business Development

  • Conduct research and prepare briefing materials for new business pitches.
  • Support development of proposals and program ideas for new and existing clients.

Initiative & Problem Solving

  • Demonstrate strong work ethic, agency values, and proactive communication.
  • Know when to work independently and when to escalate issues.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, share information, and collaborate on problem-solving.
  • Manage deadlines, attention to detail, and priorities effectively.
  • Work with supervisors to build skills and develop career path.

Performance Standards

  • Produces accurate, timely work with strong verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrates initiative and contributes as a supportive team member.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a life sciences discipline.
  • Ideally one year of experience in PR, marketing, journalism, or scientific communications.
  • Strong writing and verbal skills, familiarity with media and/or financial audiences, high energy, and strong organizational abilities.
