Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join a leading pharmaceutical/biotech organisation based in Wuppertal on a 12-month contract. This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in process equipment rather than production operations, supporting ongoing projects across engineering, validation, and process optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support process engineering activities with a strong focus on equipment (design, qualification, optimisation, and lifecycle management)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Validation, and QA to ensure compliance with GMP standards
  • Lead or contribute to equipment qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Analyse and troubleshoot process and equipment-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Support process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with documentation, including SOPs, risk assessments, and technical reports
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project timelines are met

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Process Engineer, ideally within pharma, biotech, or regulated environments
  • Strong background in process equipment (e.g., reactors, filtration systems, filling/packaging equipment, or similar)
  • Experience with GMP regulations and validation processes
  • Ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Fluent German (mandatory) and good English communication skills

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid setup: On-site presence required, with up to 2 days per week remote work
  • Full-time: 40 hours per week
  • Contract length: 12 months (potential for extension depending on project needs)
