Role Overview

We are seeking two mid-level Mechanical Engineers to support a large process engineering team currently working across more than 25 process packages. The role focuses on technical review, field support, and spot-checking engineering deliverables, with a strong emphasis on piping, pumps, and mechanical systems.

This is a hands-on position that combines desk-based engineering review with time spent in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review mechanical and piping-related reports and deliverables across multiple process packages
  • Perform spot checks on calculations, drawings, and documentation to ensure technical accuracy
  • Read, interpret, and verify P&IDs and related mechanical documentation
  • Support field activities, including line walks and verification of installed systems
  • Assist with mechanical checks related to:
    • Piping, pumps, and valves
    • Surface area calculations
    • Surface roughness and material considerations
    • Welding requirements and quality
    • Pipe slopes and drainage considerations
    • Pipe supports and support verification
  • Collaborate closely with process, piping, and construction teams to resolve mechanical issues

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Mid-level experience in mechanical or piping engineering (not a senior role)
  • Practical knowledge of piping systems, pumps, and valves
  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs confidently
  • Basic understanding of welding, pipe slopes, and mechanical installation practices
  • Experience or comfort working in the field, not only from an office environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform technical spot checks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on process plants, industrial facilities, or similar environments
  • Familiarity with line walks and field verification activities
  • Understanding of surface area calculations used in mechanical or process design
  • Previous involvement in projects with multiple process packages

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on, practical mechanical engineers who are comfortable bridging design and field execution
  • Team players who can support a high workload across many packages
  • Engineers who are detail-oriented and confident reviewing and challenging engineering work when needed
