About the Role

EPM is partnered with an early stage Oncology focused biotech seeking a strategic and experienced Executive Director of Clinical Operations to lead and expand their clinical development programs. With 2 INDs being filed within the year, they are looking for someone to lay the groundwork of their operational strategies and help build out their teams. Backed by funding from large pharmaceutical companies and VC firms along with leadership who has a proven track record of scaling successful companies and getting drugs to market, it's an exciting time to join the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the global clinical operations function, overseeing trial planning, execution, and delivery across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Develop and implement clinical strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams including Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Data Management.
  • Manage vendor relationships, CROs, and external partners to ensure quality and timely execution of clinical programs.
  • Oversee budget planning, forecasting, and resource allocation for clinical trials.
  • Ensure compliance with ICH-GCP, FDA, EMA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing clinical operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide executive-level updates and strategic insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing, or related field (PhD, MD, or PharmD preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in clinical operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience with complex clinical trials (cell therapy, oncology, rare disease, etc.)
  • Proven track record of successful global trial execution and regulatory submissions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with both small biotech and large pharma environments is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative setting
