This opportunity is ideal for a PhD-level scientist looking to transition from hands-on research into a client-facing, commercially driven role, while remaining closely connected to high-impact science.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of the company's scientific platforms and service offerings within preclinical research and drug discovery
- Engage with prospective clients across biotech and pharmaceutical organisations to identify collaboration opportunities
- Build and manage relationships with scientific stakeholders, including principal investigators and industry researchers
- Support the full business development lifecycle, including lead generation, opportunity qualification, and contract discussions
- Attend scientific conferences, trade shows, and networking events to represent the organisation and expand market presence
- Collaborate with internal scientific and marketing teams to support positioning and messaging in the marketplace
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies within immuno-oncology and preclinical research
Candidate Profile
Must-Have Requirements
- PhD in Pharmacology, Immunology, Biology, or a closely related life sciences field
- Hands-on wet lab research experience, including strong experimental understanding
- Experience working with in vivo models (mouse model experience is essential)
- Demonstrated scientific credibility (publication record required)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with scientific audiences
- Interest in transitioning into a business-focused role while staying close to the science
Preferred Profile
- Postdoctoral experience or early-career PhD graduates
- Exposure to translational research, preclinical pharmacology, or immuno-oncology
- Commercial awareness or interest in business development (no prior BD experience required)
- Comfortable working in a client-facing, relationship-driven environment
- Willingness to travel locally for client meetings and industry events
