About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Mechanical Engineer to join a leading medical device company on-site in Germany. This is a hands-on role ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in mechanical design, prototyping, and manufacturing support within regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for medical devices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing
- Create and review technical drawings, CAD models, and documentation
- Support verification and validation activities
- Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and other relevant standards
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the medical device sector
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo)
- Strong understanding of materials, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for medical devices
- Ability to work independently and on-site in Germany
- EU work authorization or existing right to work in Germany
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cleanroom environments
- Knowledge of risk management and design controls
- German language skills
