Greater Boston Area - Hybrid Position, must reside in area
A specialized, preclinical CRO providing advanced drug development support to biotech, pharmaceutical, and medical device organizations is looking for a Business Development Lead in the Greater Boston area.
This hyper growth company offers expertise in targeted drug delivery, neurosurgical and surgical disease models, bio-analysis, and translational research across neuroscience, ophthalmology, cardiovascular, metabolic, and rare disease programs. Known for its scientific rigor and collaborative client partnerships, it helps sponsors move innovative therapies from discovery toward clinical development.
Qualifications:
  • BS required; MS, MBA or PhD preferred.
  • Experience: >10 years industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-assured executive engagements, both internal (Board and Officers) and external (Clients and Officials). Ability to communicate complex business and financial information to key stakeholders.
  • Ability to anticipate the need for change as well as successfully implement and promote acceptance of change. Data and technology knowledge with effective utilization within the organization.
  • Ability to analyze emerging trends, anticipate organizational needs, and develop strategies to meet them.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies, client service and retention plans, using sales data to inform or update marketing strategies.
  • Conducting market research and identifying potential clients.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with new clients, while maintaining existing client relationships.
  • Working closely with staff across the organization to implement growth strategies.
  • Draft business plans, sales pitches, presentations, reference material, and other documents as required.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting pre-determined deadlines.
  • Identify new business opportunities and partners.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff, and clients.
  • Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers, and meet regularly with managers and stakeholders to discuss strategy
  • Other duties as assigned.
