Job Title: Oncology Regional Business Director - Mid Atlantic
Reports To: Vice President of Sales, Oncology Division
Job Summary: The Oncology Regional Business Director is responsible for leading and managing the sales operations within a specified region to achieve the company's oncology product sales goals. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive market penetration and growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology sales, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies to achieve business objectives and sales targets.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with marketing, medical affairs, and other departments to align regional strategies with overall company goals.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team, including Sales Managers and Oncology Sales Representatives.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to ensure team members meet or exceed sales targets.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare providers, and other stakeholders in the oncology community.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and providing solutions that meet their needs.
- Represent the company at regional and national oncology conferences and events.
Sales Performance and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and future plans.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies and procedures.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the regional sales budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
- Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising sales effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within oncology.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of the oncology market, including current trends, treatments, and competitive landscape.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in the pharmaceutical industry.
Travel Requirements:
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region (up to 50% of the time).
