About the Opportunity
A growing pharmaceutical company is seeking a motivated and clinically savvy Hospital Sales Specialist to join its commercial team. This individual will be responsible for driving awareness, access, and utilization of hospital-based therapies within an assigned territory. The ideal candidate possesses strong relationship-building skills, a proven healthcare sales background, and the ability to effectively engage a broad range of stakeholders throughout complex health systems.
This role requires a highly accountable professional who can execute territory strategies, communicate clinical value propositions, and develop partnerships that support long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Execution & Business Growth
- Promote and support the adoption of the company's hospital-focused products within assigned healthcare accounts.
- Consistently achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals.
- Develop and execute strategic territory plans that align with regional and national business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to expand product utilization and improve customer engagement across the territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, pharmacists, nursing leadership, administrators, and other key decision-makers.
- Create and cultivate relationships with influential customers who can serve as product advocates within their organizations.
- Conduct impactful customer meetings, presentations, and educational discussions that communicate product value and clinical differentiation.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to address customer needs and advance opportunities through the sales process.
Hospital & Clinical Account Management
- Navigate hospital systems and institutional decision-making processes, including formulary review and approval pathways.
- Deliver educational programs, product in-services, and scientific discussions to healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrate proficiency in communicating clinical evidence, product data, and health economic information.
- Identify account-specific opportunities and barriers, developing solutions that support customer and organizational goals.
- Leverage approved promotional programs, educational events, and conference activities to maximize territory performance.
Territory Planning & Reporting
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of territory dynamics, customer priorities, and competitive activity.
- Regularly evaluate account performance and adapt strategies to optimize business outcomes.
- Prepare and deliver territory updates, business reviews, and sales performance reports to leadership.
- Monitor trends, identify growth opportunities, and proactively address obstacles impacting territory success.
- Accurately document customer interactions and business activities within company systems.
Operational Excellence
- Develop and maintain expertise in company products, therapeutic areas, clinical data, and approved sales resources.
- Manage territory expenses and resources in accordance with company policies and budget expectations.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and internal requests.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 3 years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or healthcare sales experience.
- Experience selling within hospital, institutional, or specialty healthcare environments strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales objectives.

Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory as required.
- Must reside within or near the Little Rock, Arkansas territory.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required hospital credentials and access permissions.
- Thorough understanding of healthcare compliance standards, hospital protocols, and industry regulations.
- Successful completion of all required company training, onboarding, and product certification programs.
