Personal Care Technical Sales Manager (m/f/d)

Location: Germany (Home-based with regular travel)

About the Role

As part of a long-standing, privately owned distribution business with a strong reputation in specialty chemicals, you will play a key role in driving the growth of the personal care ingredients portfolio in Germany.

This position sits at the intersection of technical expertise and commercial development, requiring a deep understanding of cosmetic formulations alongside the ability to build trusted customer relationships. You will act as a strategic partner to both customers and principals, delivering high-quality ingredient solutions and market insights.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Account Management

  • Drive growth of the personal care portfolio across Germany through proactive customer engagement
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with medium to large cosmetic manufacturers
  • Manage and expand existing customer accounts with a focus on long-term partnerships
  • Deliver against sales targets, profitability goals, and strategic objectives

Technical Sales & Application Support

  • Provide hands-on technical support to customers, including formulation advice and ingredient selection
  • Translate customer needs into tailored ingredient solutions
  • Work closely with application laboratories and supplier technical teams to support product development
  • Deliver technical presentations, product trainings, and seminars to customers

Supplier & Portfolio Management

  • Act as a key interface between international supplier partners and the German market
  • Support the introduction and commercialization of new products and technologies
  • Strengthen supplier relationships through regular communication and joint customer visit

Your Profile

  • Degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related scientific field
  • 5+ years of experience in personal care ingredients, ideally within distribution or raw material suppliers
  • Proven exposure to technical sales, formulation, or application development
  • Strong understanding of the German personal care market and customer landscape
  • Existing industry network is a strong advantage
