SRA- Antibody Discovery (Phage Display)

Job Title: Senior Research Associate - Antibody Discovery

Position Summary:

Out client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate to join our antibody discovery team, with a strong emphasis on phage display technology. This role is critical to the development of therapeutic and diagnostic antibodies and will involve executing a broad range of lab-based techniques including phage display library screening, antibody production, and downstream characterization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support high-throughput screening of antibody libraries using phage display platforms.

  • Design and execute experiments to isolate and optimize antibody candidates via phage display selection campaigns.

  • Perform binding and functional assays (e.g., ELISA, flow cytometry, SPR, BLI) to assess antibody-antigen interactions.

  • Express and purify antibodies using molecular biology and protein production workflows (e.g., PCR, cloning, transient/stable transfection, chromatography).

  • Analyze experimental data, draw conclusions, and communicate findings in team settings.

  • Maintain thorough, well-organized laboratory records and documentation of protocols and results.

  • Contribute to the development of reports, presentations, and potential scientific publications.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and external partners to drive project milestones.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related scientific field is required.

    • Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of two years of hands-on laboratory experience in antibody discovery, ideally with direct phage display experience.

  • Industry experience is a plus.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of phage display techniques and antibody library screening methodologies.

  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as cloning, PCR, and site-directed mutagenesis.

  • Practical experience with antibody characterization assays (e.g., ELISA, flow cytometry, SPR, BLI).

  • Familiarity with protein expression and purification in mammalian, bacterial, or yeast systems.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to balance multiple priorities.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Self-starter with a collaborative approach and the ability to work independently.

  • Skilled in data analysis tools such as MS Excel; experience with GraphPad Prism and SharePoint is a plus.

  • Basic understanding of statistics relevant to experimental data interpretation.

Work Environment:

  • Laboratory-based position involving chemical reagents and Biosafety Level 2 materials.

  • May include handling of human blood and/or blood products under BSL-2 conditions.
