Our firm is currently partnered with a specialty biopharmaceutical organization with a growing U.S. oncology presence to identify a Senior Oncology Consultant for the Rochester, NY territory.
This search supports the continued expansion of a focused hematology portfolio within a science‑driven, specialty care environment. The organization is seeking an experienced oncology commercial professional who brings strong execution discipline, credibility with hematology stakeholders, and the ability to operate effectively within complex, institutionally oriented markets.
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Oncology Consultant will assume full responsibility for a strategically important territory, engaging hematology and oncology stakeholders across academic centers, integrated delivery networks, and select community practices. The position offers autonomy, visibility, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to sustained regional performance within a collaborative, patient‑centric organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ownership of territory performance through thoughtful business planning and consistent execution
- Engagement in compliant, balanced scientific exchange with oncology stakeholders
- Development and maintenance of long-term professional relationships across assigned accounts
- Tailoring customer discussions to reflect clinical evidence, institutional priorities, and patient pathways
- Collaboration with internal commercial partners and external stakeholders within a matrixed environment
- Effective coordination with partner organizations where applicable to ensure aligned customer engagement
- Management of territory activity and resources in line with operational and compliance expectations
- Professional representation of the organization at customer engagements, regional meetings, and internal forums
- Strict adherence to all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required; scientific or advanced training preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of successful pharmaceutical or biotech sales experience in specialty or hospital-based markets
- Oncology experience strongly preferred; hematology exposure advantageous
- Demonstrated record of sustained commercial success in complex selling environments
- Credible, professional presence with senior oncology decision-makers
- Comfortable working within cross-functional, collaborative commercial teams
- Strategic mindset with strong planning and execution capability
- Must be local to the Rochester territory and be comfortable with regular field-based travel (approximately 60%)
