Senior Visual Inspection Engineer
A leading global life sciences and biopharmaceutical organisation with a strong Swiss footprint and international customer base. The company is investing heavily in new infrastructure and advanced manufacturing capabilities as part of a major site expansion programme.
The role
This position supports the scale‑up and optimisation of automated visual inspection within a modern sterile manufacturing environment. The role plays a key part in bringing new inspection capabilities into production while establishing robust, efficient and future‑ready recipe development processes across a diverse product portfolio.
What you'll do
- Support the industrialisation and start‑up of two new automated visual inspection lines
- Establish a structured and scalable approach to recipe development across liquid, lyophilised and pre‑filled syringe products
- Drive standardisation and automation of recipe development and change control to shorten technical transfer timelines
- Execute and support recipe qualification and validation activities, including associated GMP documentation
- Apply LEAN principles to recipe development, contributing to continuous improvement, reduced false reject rates and improved inspection efficiency
- Develop and maintain image and video databases with data visualisation to support ongoing optimisation and future AI integration
- Contribute to innovation initiatives, including virtual PQ concepts and the introduction of AI layers within existing AVI platforms
What we're looking for
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Vision or equivalent hands‑on experience
- Several years of experience within a GMP‑regulated pharmaceutical environment or working with visual inspection systems for the pharma industry
- Strong technical understanding of automated visual inspection systems and camera‑based in‑process controls on filling lines
- Solid knowledge of optical systems, including cameras, lenses and lighting, with a practical troubleshooting mindset
- Experience developing, validating and qualifying AVI recipes
- Comfortable working independently in a dynamic and evolving environment
- Fluency in English
