Senior Manager of Contracts and Pricing

General Description
The Senior Manager, Pricing & Contracting is responsible for leading strategic pricing analyses, developing financial and contract modeling, and ensuring the effectiveness of U.S. pricing and contracting strategies across key market access channels. This role evaluates the financial and operational impact of various pricing approaches, supports contracting with payers and distribution partners, and provides insights that guide strategic decision‑making for current and future product launches.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in U.S. market access, including payer dynamics, contracting structures, GTN modeling, and reimbursement pathways. Experience in specialty pharmaceuticals and oncology is strongly preferred. This position reports to a Senior Director within the Pricing, Contracting, and Pipeline Strategy function.


Essential Responsibilities

Strategic Pricing & Contracting Analytics

  • Develop pricing and contracting analytics, including advanced financial models for Payers, PBMs, GPOs (community and hospital), and IDNs.
  • Assess the impact of proposed contracting scenarios on ROI, Gross‑to‑Net (GTN), Average Selling Price (ASP), revenue forecasts, and margin performance.
  • Design and maintain pricing models to support pre‑ and post‑launch decision‑making, including implications for ASP, AMP, Best Price, and pricing compliance.
  • Evaluate lifecycle pricing strategies as well as legislative or market changes that may impact GTN, access, and revenue.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Strategy Development

  • Partner with Value, Real World Evidence, HEOR, Legal, and Commercial teams to identify and implement innovative pricing and contracting strategies (e.g., value‑based agreements, subscription models, capitated arrangements).
  • Support health technology assessments, including cost‑effectiveness and budget impact models, ensuring alignment with payer expectations.
  • Provide key pricing, reimbursement, and GTN assumptions for bottom‑up forecasts and commercial planning.

Market Insights & Competitive Intelligence

  • Analyze competitive pricing trends, reimbursement dynamics, policy developments, and broader market forces to inform pricing and contracting strategy.
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights to leadership on GTN drivers and evolving payer or distribution channel considerations.

Contract Development & Governance

  • Draft, review, and support management of commercial contracts with payers, GPOs, specialty pharmacies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Maintain and routinely update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to pricing operations and contract management.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance requirements and statutory pricing regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Life Sciences, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industries.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience in pricing, contracting, market access analytics, or related functions.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. drug pricing frameworks.
  • Deep knowledge of market access landscapes, payer relationships, reimbursement strategy, and GTN accounting principles.
  • Experience supporting commercial product launches required.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex pricing/contracting topics for varied stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate within matrixed teams and build strong cross‑functional partnerships.
  • Knowledge of payer and distribution channels, including commercial, government, specialty pharmacy, and GPOs.
  • Strategic thinker with an ability to connect operational analytics to broader business objectives.
  • Experience in oncology (solid tumors and oral oncolytics) preferred.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving environment.
