Role Summary
The Senior Director of Medical Affairs will lead the entire Medical Affairs function and serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the President, this individual will be responsible for developing and executing the medical strategy across the company's portfolio and pipeline. The role requires a blend of scientific expertise, strategic insight, and strong leadership to drive cross-functional collaboration, external engagement, and internal excellence.
This is a hybrid role based in East Windsor, NJ, with an expectation of onsite presence 1-2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the integrated Medical Affairs strategy across all therapeutic areas.
- Serve as the primary medical expert for marketed and pipeline products, providing scientific leadership and insights.
- Build and manage a high-performing Medical Affairs team, including Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs).
- Establish and maintain compliant processes and SOPs aligned with regulatory and ethical standards.
- Cultivate strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the planning and execution of advisory boards, scientific presentations, and industry engagements.
- Guide the development of publication strategies and scientific communication plans.
- Evaluate and support investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and research collaborations.
- Partner with Business Development to assess new opportunities and provide medical input on potential acquisitions.
- Collaborate closely with Commercial, Regulatory, and Clinical teams to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
- Provide training and scientific support to internal teams and international partners.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree required: MD, PharmD, or PhD.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Strong background in Hematology/Oncology is highly preferred; Dermatology experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with broad responsibilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for conferences, field visits, and stakeholder meetings.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary Range: $210,000 - $225,000 annually
