The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced IT Purchasing Category Manager to join our team on a flexible contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and delivering value across IT procurement for a large, dynamic organisation.
Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, and Service Execution to ensure efficient, reliable, and value-driven procurement of IT goods and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, develop, and evolve the IT supplier portfolio
- Monitor IT supply markets and identify trends and opportunities
- Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to improve competitiveness
- Identify and implement cost and process optimisation measures
- Develop and adapt product-based sourcing strategies
- Lead end-to-end Request for Proposal (RfP) processes
- Negotiate commercial contracts with suppliers
- Conduct supplier risk assessments and screening
- Evaluate suppliers against ESG criteria
- Promote adherence to procurement processes and compliance standards
- Continuously improve source-to-contract and procurement processes
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide expert procurement guidance

- Supplier approval, rationalisation, and performance management
- Supplier benchmarking and market analysis
- Cross-functional stakeholder collaboration
About You
- Proven experience in IT procurement or category management
- Strong track record in supplier negotiation and contract management
- Experience running RfPs / sourcing events
- Knowledge of IT supply markets and vendor landscape
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive strategic initiatives
- Strong analytical and process improvement mindset
- Fluent in English and German (both required)
