Role Overview
The Associate Director (Account Supervisor) serves as a key leader across major client engagements. This role is responsible for day‑to‑day oversight of strategic delivery, operational alignment, and maintaining high‑quality client partnerships.
The position is suited for an individual with strong strategic thinking, operational discipline, and the ability to influence both internal teams and client stakeholders. This role also provides important support to senior leadership on complex accounts.
Core Responsibilities
Business Understanding
- Develop a deep understanding of each client's scientific, strategic, and operational priorities.
- Assess briefs and scientific strategies, providing insights and informed points of view.
- Support the creation of strategic recommendations, activation plans, and program direction.
Execution Excellence
- Lead daily execution across multiple initiatives with accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Facilitate client and internal meetings, ensuring clarity on decisions, next steps, and risks.
- Translate strategy into actionable workstreams for cross‑functional teams.
- Anticipate challenges and proactively recommend feasible solutions.
Relationship Management
- Act as a trusted partner to client stakeholders at operational and medical levels.
- Support senior leaders in strengthening relationships with higher‑level client contacts.
- Maintain alignment across scientific, creative, editorial, project management, and strategy teams.
- Coach junior team members to build capability, confidence, and performance.
Business & Financial Management
- Manage budgets, forecasting, resourcing needs, and overall project health.
- Collaborate with leadership and project management partners to monitor profitability and mitigate risks.
- Contribute to the development of scopes of work, scenario plans, and change‑management processes.
- Maintain organized documentation, timelines, and reporting tools for transparency and accountability.
Growth & Opportunity Development
- Identify opportunities to enhance programs, improve efficiencies, or expand engagements.
- Support annual and account planning efforts, including environmental and landscape assessments.
- Assist in the development of pitch materials, research summaries, points of view, and credentials.
Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of experience in medical communications, medical affairs consulting, or healthcare marketing.
- Strong understanding of scientific content, healthcare systems, and medical review processes.
- Ability to translate strategy into precise, actionable execution plans.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Collaborative leadership style with emotional intelligence and strong team influence.
- Proficient in managing budgets, timelines, and operational workflows independently.
- Adept at navigating ambiguity and providing structured, clear recommendations.
