Replacement - Maintenance Technician
To ensure that all medical equipment and devices are maintained, calibrated, and repaired to the highest standards, ensuring safe and reliable operation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on medical devices (e.g., infusion pumps, imaging systems, monitors)
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems
- Conduct equipment inspections and safety checks
- Replace defective parts and ensure correct functioning
Calibration & Testing
- Calibrate equipment according to manufacturer specifications
- Perform functional and performance testing
- Ensure traceability of calibration standards
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., MHRA, ISO 13485, FDA where applicable)
- Follow health & safety guidelines and infection control procedures
Installation & Commissioning
- Install and set up new medical equipment
- Perform initial testing and validation
- Provide technical support during commissioning
Technical Support & Training
- Support clinical staff with troubleshooting equipment issues
- Provide basic user training on equipment handling
- Liaise with external vendors and service providers
Inventory & Spare Parts Management
- Monitor stock levels of spare parts and consumables
- Coordinate ordering and replacement parts inventory
Skills & Competencies
- Strong electrical and electronic diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of medical device systems and biomedical equipment
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
- Problem-solving and analytical mindset
- Good communication skills (for interaction with clinical teams)
- Attention to detail and compliance focus
