Quality Engineering Team Manager

Overview
We are supporting a leading life sciences manufacturing organisation in the search for a Quality Engineering Team Manager.

This is a leadership position responsible for managing a team of Quality Engineers and Technicians within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. The role combines people leadership, operational quality oversight, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and effective resolution of quality-related issues across manufacturing operations.
What you'll do:
* Lead, develop and manage a team, providing coaching, performance management, and career development support.
* Act as the subject matter expert for quality engineering activities, ensuring effective prioritisation of team workload and resource allocation.
* Oversee investigations relating to manufacturing non-conformances, customer complaints, quality events, and operational issues, ensuring timely and compliant resolution.
* Drive root cause analysis, CAPA implementation, risk assessment activities, and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
* Review and approve technical documentation, investigation reports, and quality records while promoting best practices within the team.
* Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance and other site functions to deliver quality objectives, support projects, and ensure compliant outcomes.
* Support the deployment of new procedures, quality systems, and process improvements to strengthen compliance and operational effectiveness.
* Monitor, analyse and report quality performance metrics, escalating risks and driving improvements where required.
* Contribute to audit readiness activities and support regulatory, customer, and internal quality inspections.

Requirements:

* Degree qualification in Engineering, Life Sciences, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
* Proven experience leading and developing teams within a regulated manufacturing environment.
* Strong background in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or manufacturing quality within industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, or other highly regulated sectors.
* Demonstrated experience managing investigations, non-conformances, CAPAs, root cause analysis, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Solid understanding of quality management systems and regulatory requirements, with experience working within ISO and/or GMP-regulated environments.
* Experience applying risk management methodologies and making data-driven quality decisions.
* Strong stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
* Proven ability to drive continuous improvement, implement change, and deliver operational results through teams.
